NSV

Well i took the plunge, I went and bought a new pair of jeans. I ventured off to Kmart in search of jeans that weren't that pricey hoping knowing I wouldn't be in them that long. I grabbed a pair of 16 and 14 figured why not. The 16 was just a bit loose but I know that one washing will fix that but out of curiosity I tried the 14 and I was able to button them... I looked like a busted can of biscuits but by golly they made it up, i could zip and button them. I decided not to get the 16 instead of the 14- my sister has dropped a few sizes and she has some 14s for me so I stuck to one pair of jeans.
While I was there I tried on a few tops and I was able to go to the other side of the wall... you know the "normal" sized area. I purchased 3 tops that were XL- not 1X but an honest to God XL. It's starting to to sink in that I am doing it, I'm changing my body and I love it.
Well I need to get going, I have a date with my hubby- We're going out to dinner... mmmmm, Mexican food.
thanks again for reading.

Gag me with a spoon... or in my case chicken

After grocery shopping yesterday I decided I should probably eat something so I picked up some wing dings from Wally world and then grabbed the princess and my mother in law some lunch at Jack in the box. Got to my MIL house and started to scarf down the deep fried goodness of those wings. After a few wings I realized I was stuck- I have had that slow go feeling but not an actual stuck feeling so of course out of habit i tried sipping some water... no go, I walked eagerly to the bathroom to avoid a mess in the kitchen cause I knew what was about to happen. I waited for just a second and then the sliming happened... OMG- never have I experienced so much saliva and that sip of water that I was hoping would ease that chicken down to my gullet came back up with avengance but not the chicken, that finally made its way down... needless to say I was done eating.
Thats all for now- happy weekend and remember to chew and take small bites.

I finally did it

I joined a gym! Nothing flashy but I got a membership at the neighborhood rec center- $16 a month and I could walk there if I want. The only other gym close by is $30 a month and I can't go spending that much on a membership that has registration fees too.
Yesterday was my first day in a gym and it felt good. I started with 30 mins on the elliptical then over to the bike for 20 mins, did some on the machines for arms and abs and finished up with 20 mins on the treadmill. I loved it and can't wait to go again. It's been hard to find a balance between mom/wife duties and time for me. My mother in law has been a big help and will watch the princess while I go to the gym.
In a few weeks I plan to put the princess in pre-school at the same rec center so I will be able to get in good workouts on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I may even do a few classes myself like cardio kick boxing and zumba... but not sure yet, baby steps.
Well that's all for now, thanks for reading- have a great weekend.

Ten things Thursday - ecard style

TTT

1. I am addicted to pinterest and love random ecards

2. I am a stay at home mom to a 3 yr old

3. I get to go to the store tomorrow without any children.

4. I really wish watching TV burned as many calories as walking does

5. For some reason, call it accountability, I find it necessary to post on FB that I have gone to the gym

6. Anyone else worried about loosing their boobs with their weight loss?

7. In an effort to help avoid "head hunger" I have started 'pinning wedding stuff and it is making me want to get married again... to the same guy, no use in training a new one.

8. I used to be a closet eater, my 'drug of choice' were zingers

9. I belive that my children have a padded cell waiting for me, but they won't let me go there until they are ready to move out.

10. I wonder who really reads my blog, I know that Banded strong does, (she is so sweet to always leave a positive message). I used to think that it was silly to post a blog and have no one read it, but I know that even without feedback its a great way to keep me in the zone. To those of you who do read - thank you for taking time out of your day to stop by.

Weigh in day

I was totally surprised when I got on the scale this morning and saw 186.8, a  2 pound loss from last week and 1 pound away from losing 30 pounds since surgery.
I thought I would see a gain, scale whore remember- I guess I'm doing something right after all.
Thanks for reading

Motivational Monday

Ever just have one of those lives that you wish you could do over?... Well not the entire life- I mean I wouldn't change meeting my now husband or having my kids but I would change how I treated my body. I would have got out of the house and played more, I would have avoided the ice cream truck aka the crack mobile. I would have been more confident in myself.
But doing my life over is not an option and if I did live my life different it would change who I became as a woman, sister, daughter, wife, mom, aunt and person. Instead of giving up when I have an off day like all the other times I have in the past I am persistent on changing for the better with the help of my band. I am still working on getting my sweat on and getting my portions right- its a learning process and I'm still learning and I am not giving up- I AM WORTH IT!
thanks for reading.

Super Sunday

The day of the big game is finally here, that means after today NO MORE FOOTBALL- Thank God!
I am not a sports fan nor did I marry sports fan but we do on occasion watch the Super Bowl. This year we have a child's birthday party to go to followed by a Super Bowl party thankfully they are at the same house. Not sure if w will make it through the whole game (my 3 yr old will not be getting a nap).
I am trying to get mentally prepared for the onslaught of food- mainly the cake (I'm PMS'ing and all I want are sweets) The host is a health freak so I should be OK, just a matter of me controlling myself and enjoying in moderation.

onto other issues...
I think I'm in a rut or plateau. As I have mentioned before I am a self admitted scale whore and usually get on that damn thing once a day (I used to get on ever time I went into my bathroom so I'm doing much better) and I have not seen it move. I guess I will have to wait until Tuesday for my weekly weigh-in to know for sure. Until then I have upped my water and changed my eating just a bit; I am still struggling with getting my sweat on and I know that once I start moving consistently I should see the numbers moving down again (I hope).

ok, off to get ready for cake, ice cream and game day but I am mostly excited to see my mommy friends.

Make it a Super Day!
